St Pauli

Wiebe Berëza (born Büttner, Meldorf) started her career as architectural draughtsman in a small North-German village, called Albersdorf. Barely three months into her first, and last contract job, Wiebe swopped security for adventure and moved to the city…

First to London and one year later, 23 years old, to Hamburg. In that north German harbour city by the Elbe, Wiebe completed the Trade School for Graphic and Design.

More important for her artistic development were the Hamburg harbour and the night life in and around St. Pauli. Numerous theatres, variety-shows and bars made up a bizarre underground scene. Until present day is Wiebe tapping into this bottomless source of inspiration.
