This retrospective offers an overview of Wiebe’s work from 1999 to present day. Paintings and drawings that reveal an optimistic, sometimes nostalgic, but always humorous nature of a country girl that travelled the word to become a clown, a circus director, a pantomime and a observant painter.
Absurd and sometimes tragic-comical or even naïve, Wiebe Bereza’s paintings always provoque a smile or even a laught. “I find it important that people make a happy face,” says Wiebe. “My paintings and colours should create a cheerful vibe.”
Wiebe paints to make people laugh, to create a positive atmosphere or to cheer people up.
